Did-u-know scientific evidence proves living conditions were better for life on earth sometime in the past than they are now? The fossil record indicates a hornless rhinoceros that was about eighteen feet high and nearly 30 feet long. Coiled shell fish today grow about eight inches across, but fossilized specimens are displayed in museums that measure over 5 feet across. In the past mosses grew 2-3 feet in height instead of an inch or two like they do today. (1) Fossil cattails have been found 60 feet tall. Ducks could really hide in that! A donkey was excavated in Texas that was 9 feet tall at the shoulders. The skeleton of an 11'6” man was found in an Italian coal mine. (2) One belief of evolution is uniformitarianism. That is a big word that means the present natural processes we see going on today have been going on for millions of years and can account for all the natural evidence we find in fossils and geology. The obvious conclusion from the fossil record is that conditions on earth were different in the past and that led to larger plant life and animals.
