Meteorites

Did-u-know that meteorites indicate the earth is not billions of years old?

If the earth is 4.5 billion years old there should be thousands of large meteorites along with 100's of thousands of small ones present in the geologic column. According to many geologists, these layers in the earth's crust take millions of years to form.

The problem is, there is virtually no meteorite material found in these layers. Coal is supposed to have taken millions of years to form; yet the mining of billions of tons of this material has produced only rare specimens of meteorites. The same is true for the mining of other materials. Only the top layers of the earth's crust contain the expected amount of meteorite material. How could the earth have escaped these impacts for millions upon millions of years? (1)

Is it possible a flood with the fountains of the deep opening up caused tremendous sedimentary formations in a very short time? The several thousand years that have passed since this flood would account for the number of meteorites present in the upper layers of the earth's crust.

Its true, a lack of meteorites in the geologic column is supportive evidence for a young earth. (2)
